The Final Inspection
Dedicated to Their Memory

                  Chief Gerald L. Pickering

The Webster Police Department began in 1928 with one officer.  Today, a staff of 33 sworn officers and 8 civilian employees protect the Town and Village of Webster.  After 23 years in law enforcement, I was named Webster’s 8th police chief in April, 2001.  I am proud to lead a professional, New York State accredited law enforcement agency.

The Town of Webster is comprised of approximately 32 square miles and is located on the eastern shore of Irondequoit Bay and the southern shore of Lake Ontario.  The Webster Police Department responded to 35,293 calls for service in the year 2008 which represented a 2.5% increase in our responses from 2007.

The Webster Police department will remain a pro-active law enforcement agency committed to providing quality and professional law enforcement services to the citizens and business community of the Town and Village of Webster.

We will continue our community policing efforts and focus on quality of life issues.  By continued partnership with our residents, we will achieve our goals to maintain a pleasant and healthy community in which to live and work.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our web page.  I hope you find it informative.
